WHAT CLINICIANS ARE SAYING ABOUT NELLA

It’s narrow, sleek design makes it much more comfortable for patients.

Alexandra Rodriguez, MD

Physician

I have been an OBGYN for over 30 years and my patients have never complained about how I used the speculum. It was not until I used the Nella and saw the patient feedback that I understood how much the speculum impacts the patient experience.

Nella is a game changer for patients

and as experienced clinicians we need to drive that change for our patients.

JULIAN PESKIN,

MD, MBA FACOG, OBGYN Cleveland, Ohio

Thank you so much for my new Nella specula. I used them on three very difficult patients and it was wonderful!

No lubricant needed and they had no pain.

One was very atrophic with a narrow vaginal vault, one had prolapsed and the last one was morbidly obese. I cannot thank you enough!

WHAT PATIENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT NELLA

I definitely felt a lot more comfortable knowing my gynecologist uses the Nella speculum.

AIDEN

Patient, 22

I had the Nella used on me for my first pelvic exam, and

It was so comfortable I barely felt it.

I’m so happy you have designed products to make being a woman thaty much easier.

AIDAN

Patient, age 23

With the nella, I had the most comfortable pelvic exam in two decades,

and frankly, even before that. In the past, I would walk out of my exams with some bleeding, soreness, and uncomfortable walking and sitting that would last for days. I had NONE of these reactions following my exam with the Nella.”

CHRISTINE

Cancer survivor, patient, age 62

About 10 years ago I was on my 7th round of fertility treatments. I was giving myself hundreds of shots over 3-years and went through multiple miscarriages.Read more

But, what stood out during this time was the metal speculum being used during all my exams.  After researching about the metal speculum used during these exams, I learned it was invented in the 1800s by Dr. Marion Simms – a man who performed exams on enslaved women.  And the plastic one that many clinicians use is not modern either – it was invented almost 50 years ago.

I found it to be quite insulting that today, in 2023, we are surrounded by so much innovation, and the speculum has never been modernized – and, that is when i made it my mission to develop a speculum for all women that was based on comfort.
